Layer3 does everything it can to prepare you for the unexpected by recommending redundancy in your systems but ultimately the only way to ensure your data is safe is to have a regular, reliable backup that is off site; redundancy doesn't protect from fire or theft for example.

If you are noticing slow system performace, strange behaviour from your PC, or strange emails; there is a good chance you have a virus.
While it is a good indicator of an infection on your PC, the online scanner is no replacement for a permanently resident scanner on your PC or server as it cannot scan on a regular basis, nor scan files "on access" ie. whenever you try to open them.
